While Celeste fights sleep in her room with an astronomy book, she receives an unexpected visit from a friendly particle of light called the moon. Together they embark on a journey through the universe to find out if there are planets orbiting stars other than the sun and how to discover them.

They observe solitary worlds, water worlds and super-Earths. Mond tells her about planet hunters who search the sky for planets like Earth. Out there, Mond says, there could be a star like our sun, with a planet like Earth orbiting around it, with oceans, forests and, who knows, maybe even a civilization.
